Contact and feedback

Blackwood.fyi is a reviewed family-history and public-profile site. Feedback is welcome, especially corrections, source leads, profile material, and requests to contact a person represented here.

Contact form

The contact app is available at /contact/app/. It accepts anonymous requests, optional account-based requests, corrections, source leads, profile material, privacy requests, and relay-only contact requests.

Request types

Corrections: Point to the page, the statement needing review, and the source or context for the correction.
Profile material: Provide text, links, images, or document references, along with a clear statement that the material is approved for public use.
Contact requests: Requests to reach a living person should be relayed by the maintainer. Private email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses should not be posted publicly.
Privacy requests: Ask for removal or redaction of sensitive details, living-person information, or material that should not be public.

Future form requirements

A proper web form should use a moderated queue with no automatic publication. Anonymous submissions should be allowed for corrections and source leads, and the confirmation page should issue a private thread token so the submitter can continue the same request later without creating an account.

Accounts should be optional but useful for a persistent display name, verified email, password-based recovery, and tracking a submitter's own requests. Contact requests should be relay-only: the site should forward the request to the person or maintainer without exposing private contact details.

The form should include spam protection, rate limiting, CSRF protection, consent checkboxes, age/terms confirmation where appropriate, a private moderation queue, optional file-upload review, and clear non-public/public-use choices for contributed material.
